Lynggården, Køge

A spacious area with multiple play zones

In the city of Køge, the housing association Lynggården, showcases multiple impressive play zones within their shared spaces, each catering to specific age groups with age appropriate play activities.

The first play zone has a special focus on the older age groups. The playground includes play equipment from several of our theme worlds, which makes it filled with thematic details from the deep jungle to far out on the sea. The adventurous playground therefore encourages creativity and role-playing, whilst also being challenging for the older children’s motor skills, as our big play system Saldor and Nathalie pirate ship are filled with physical activities.

The second play zone is an ideal space where imagination can be set free. Here you will find the eye catching Dagonet play system from LEDONs Castle theme world encourages role playing, while giving children the opportunity to challenge and develop their skills. This play system offers activities such as a vertical climbing wall, somersault bar, tube slide and a wobbly bridge.

The younger children can interact with the play activities at ground level, such as the treasure chest and key.

The third play zone is a play universe specifically designed with the younger children (ages 0-7) in mind, and blends Miniplay and Explore theme worlds together. Children can play with sensory elements like sand panels, the cozy Alfred hut, and a giraffe springer that supports balance and coordination. Vibrant colors and interactive features encourage curiosity and exploration.

Ryethaven housing association

Multiple play zones ensure activities for all ages

The Ryethaven housing association had a wish to modernise the existing playground, aiming to create a space that would attract more families to the communal area. The playground is divided into multiple play zones, each catering to a different age groups, which include an area designed for children aged 0-5, another for those aged 6-10, as well as a football and petanque area for all ages to enjoy.

The play zone designed for children between the ages 0-5, focuses on fostering creativity and role-playing. In this area, features like the sandbox, Off-roader and play structure from our Miniplay theme world, offers high play value while supporting the development of fine motor skills.

The play zone for childrens ages 6-10, is filled with opportunities for children to challenge themselves, while having fun at the same time. At this age, it is important to put gross motor skills to the test, which is why our play system Boris, trampoline and swing set are all great choices, to encourage the development of cross body movements and gross motor skills.

This playground is filled with equipment for children of all ages, offering opportunities for creativity and active play no matter the age. From the sandbox and swings to the football and petanque area, all generations can enjoy the space together, making the communal space an enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Recreatiepark de Leistert

In Roggel, Netherlands the camping center Recreatiepark de Leistert wanted to establish a unique play universe where children could have fun, regardless of weather conditions. The playground needed to accommodate children ages 0-9. Therefore, the natural choice was to incorporate play equipment from LEDON’s MiniPlay theme world, as the series is designed and developed specifically for young children. Alongside LEDON’s play equipment are the constructions in Robinia wood, from our partner Ijreka Speeltoestellen.

This playground is eye-catching due to the unique combination of materials, but also because it is nicely tied together through the use of rubber flooring. The design of the rubber flooring creates details and spaces that help to build a story throughout the play universe. The creation of small paths, rivers and stepping stones creates a unity for the entire space, but also breaks the space up into smaller zones.

The playground is full of fun activities and play elements that encourage children to challenge themselves both physically and cognitively. The playground gives children the opportunity to climb, practice balance as well as engage in role playing. Many children prefer to immerse themselves by playing quietly and alone, therefore the smaller play zones allows children with all different play preferences to play in the same space.

This project is a good example of how LEDON’s play equipment in HDPE materials, alongside Robinia wood in the same play universe, actually compliments each other nicely. This project also highlights how, together with Ijreka Speeltoestellen, we can apply our knowledge and expertise in the field of children’s development, materials, colours and shapes to establish a playground with high play value and plenty of exciting play activities.

The playhouse is specially designed in another colour. The standard version is shown in the product overview.

Engparken, Ribe

Play zones on the playground provide space for children of all age groups

The homeowners’ association Centerområdet i Ribe had to replace their old playground on the area’s green space. With supplementary funds from both Norlys Vækstpulje and Esbjerg Municipality, the wish for a large playground that can accommodate children from 0-12 years of age became a reality.

The new playground is divided into several small areas, all suitable for specific types of play or age groups. For example, there is an area for the smallest children, which is designed with age-appropriate play equipment such as playhouses, a baby swing and a play system from our series LEDON MiniPlay, which has been specially developed for children from 0-3 years.

In addition, there is an area with swings as well as one with a balance course and a ship’s bow. The bigger children can enjoy our largest play system from LEDON Explore, which is full of opportunities to train gross motor skills using climbing walls, wobbly bridges, rope tunnels and slides.

Jens Henriksen, who is the chairman of the homeowners’ association, is very satisfied with the final playground and says:

We think that the finished result has succeeded really well. We are very proud to have been able to establish the playground to the extent that it actually is. The playground is used by our day care institutions – both kindergartens and nurseries to a large extent. During the day and at weekends, it is a gathering place for our residents in the homeowners’ association. So, we are very satisfied with the result that we have today.

Jens Henriksen, the chairman of the homeowners’ association

He also says the following about our collaboration:

The cooperation we have had with LEDON means that we will not hesitate to recommend LEDON for other future projects. If someone asks us about the collaboration, we have had with LEDON, then it has been incomparable – it has been really good. Only a big recommendation for LEDON from here.

Jens Henriksen, the chairman of the homeowners’ association

BørneUniverset, Hobro

A complete solution for BørneUniverset’s many outdoor areas

The newly built day care institution BørneUniverset needed playgrounds for all their outdoor areas. The institution’s wish was that all areas should invite children to play and support their natural development. Here with a focus on sensory integration, movement and opportunities for immersion.

The various play environments accommodate everything from the guest day care and the nursery to the kindergarten and special needs kindergarten. Therefore, each area has been designed with regard to the developmental- and age levels of the children as well as the surroundings and the space that were available. With play equipment from our various theme worlds, we have been able to meet all the institution’s wishes and needs.

The smallest children benefit from an arrangement with play equipment from our series LEDON MiniPlay, which has been specially developed for the age group 0-3 years. While the older children can have a go with play equipment from our theme worlds LEDON Explore and LEDON Pirates, both of which are suitable for role play and developed with lots of play activities.

All our play equipment has been developed in collaboration with children. This ensures that we design play equipment that both supports the children’s development and at the same time provides the best play experiences. Gredstedbro Borgerforening

Great cooperation, great playground, great joy!

The wide range of play equipment ensures that children of all ages enjoy the playground.

Valmuemarken in Gredstedbro south of Esbjerg now has a big new playground which is bursting with fun play equipment. The playground came into being through a collaboration between the civic association Gredstedbro Borgerforening, the Municipality of Esbjerg and a group of local residents.

There was a desire that the playground should be able to accommodate multiple age groups, so that as many children as possible could enjoy it. It was realised by choosing a wide selection of play equipment from the LEDON Explore series. With springers, swings, playhouses, a climbing frame and play systems, there is no doubt that the playground has everything that children young and old could want.

The opening of the new playground was celebrated on a sunny day in summer 2021 and was attended by many children and adults. The children tried out all the new play equipment, which immediately brought forth the smiles. The playground has quickly become a place for the locals to gather, and is also popular with childminders and children in the area.

Familieforeningen Kalundborg

A large playground for bringing children and adults together

In Kalundborg on Zealand, a place has been created for young families living in the city to gather. Thanks to the family association Familiehjørnet Kalundborg and the ‘get it fixed’ funding pool from the Municipality of Kalundborg, a dream of having a large playground is now a reality.

The playground features play equipment from several of our theme worlds, so there is something for every age group. The association liked the play equipment from our LEDON MiniPlay series in particular. Laura Deigaard Sørensen, anchorperson for the association, says:

We chose LEDON because we think their equipment matched our wish for a playground that caters for the youngest children, and because they managed to create a coherent solution that made a lot of sense to us. The play equipment appeals to the children with its sweet designs and colours, and stimulates their imagination, motor skills and creativity.

Laura Deigaard Sørensen, Foreningen Familiehjørnet

It was a huge project, and the playground was therefore officially inaugurated by the Mayor of Kalundborg, Martin Damm, with speeches from several stakeholders before Nova, aged 5, helped cut the red ribbon. The playground is now ready to welcome local children and adults as well as visitors.

Laura Deigaard Sørensen has no doubts they now have their dream playground. Commenting on the playground and our collaboration, she says:

Our collaboration with LEDON has been excellent from start to finish. Our communication with LEDON has been good, and they have been very service-minded. LEDON’s consultants were good at listening and understood our needs and wishes regarding the playground design, so that at the end of the day we have a playground that fulfils all our dreams. In addition, all deadlines were met, and they delivered on all counts.

Børnehuset Fladhøj, Rødekro

Playground welcomed by both children and childcare professionals

At Børnehuset Fladhøj, an integrated day care institution and kindergarten in southern Denmark, the children and childcare professionals have been given new play equipment for the outdoor playground. It comprises the play environment Filippa and the Brum the Bee crawling bridge from our MiniPlay series, which is particularly suitable for institutions.

MiniPlay has been developed in collaboration with children and childcare professionals, and focuses on giving the youngest children a good start early in life by developing their motor skills. The childcare professionals at Børnehuset Fladhøj are particularly pleased with the floor height of the play system, which has been designed so that the adults do not have to adopt unergonomic positions when helping children to play. The staff are therefore able to follow the children around the entire play system without having to bend down.

The Filippa play system features many colours, moving parts and play activities that catch the children’s attention and encourage them to use their fine motor skills and practise their language skills. The childcare professionals at Fladhøj are also pleased that the children’s gross motor skills are challenged as they move from one level to another. The gentle slope helps children to train their balance and ability to walk.

Brum the Bee is designed to help the very youngest. It enables children to safely practise crawling, walking and standing, as they can hold onto several handles and stand firmly on the non-slip surface. At Børnehuset Fladhøj, Brum was a particularly appropriate choice. They have a group called ‘Brumbasserne’, so Brum was sure to feel completely at home with the children there.

Filippa is a play mecca for the youngest

Filippa is one of the largest play environments in MiniPlay, quite apart from Astrid and Jonathan, which is by far the biggest play system. Filippa is a good size and accommodates many children at the same time. It will fulfil every toddler’s dreams for a playground, for example a shop where everything can be bought over the counter or passed through the rubber ‘goods-in’ hatch. There is even a working bell. The sloping bridge trains motor skills and balance, while the world can be seen in a completely new perspective through the butterfly’s coloured wings, which light up in the sunshine. Children can also enjoy the sense of excitement in launching themselves down the slide, which will also make them feel confident with gravity and teach them about distance and speed.

Memory game for all ages

Filippa is packed with turning, spinning and moving features – among other things the moving flowers, butterflies and bees, which exercise children’s fine motor skills while also serving as topics for discussion and language training. One play panel which is particularly good at encouraging children to talk and for language training is the memory game. The four creatures represent different colours; the bottom two creatures crawl, and the top two fly. This soon prompts exchanges about animals and colours, and guessing where the creatures have hidden. At the same time, the game exercises the children’s fine motor skills and language skills.

Why choose LEDON MiniPlay?

  • The series has been specifically designed for children aged 0 to 4 years.
  • Suitable for both outdoor and indoor use.
  • Developed in collaboration with children and childcare professionals.
  • Can be installed directly on grass.
  • Height-designed to enable adults to support children as they play.

Space for stories and secrets

During days packed with new impressions, it is nice for children to have a place for quiet reflection, for looking at a storybook or exchanging secrets with their best friend. Alfred the Hut is an obvious bolthole. Inside, the hut is designed with two benches and a table, and with all the movable butterflies, bees and flowers, the hut encourages even the youngest children to interact and play with one another, practising their first words, negotiating their first conflicts and making their first friends – and learning the basics of social interaction.

Alfred has been developed in collaboration with children and childcare professionals

Like the rest of the MiniPlay family, Alfred the Hut has been developed in collaboration with children and childcare professionals. Many children need a place for quiet reflection and where they can step back from everything that is going on around them. This is what gave us the idea for Alfred. With all the holes and the window on one side, it’s possible to look out, yet at the same time feel safe in your own den. Alfred also has a roof window, so that the grown-ups can check on the children without disturbing their play – a feature that was high on the wish list of childcare professionals.

Why choose LEDON MiniPlay?
