Playground obstacle courses are always popular, and at the same time playing on an obstacle course supports children’s natural physical and motor development.
You decide which elements you want to include in your obstacle course. In other words, we tailor the solution to your needs. You can also choose to have two obstacle courses, where one is easier to complete than the other. In this way, even the youngest children can develop their motor skills, while having fun playing on the obstacle course.
When children develop their motor skills, balance and physique, it has a positive effect on their future development. Proper motor development is the best starting point for children learning to read, among other things.
In addition, children develop their social skills when playing together. You can choose to include challenging elements in your obstacle course that require the children to assist each other in order to move forward. This strengthens their social bonds, because they are solving a challenge together.
An obstacle course is a big hit at the playground. Both solo, where a child can tackle the various obstacles and play on their own, or together with others, where ‘the floor is lava’ or tag are particularly popular games.
Using their sense of balance to negotiate the obstacle courses, or when playing these games, children train their cerebellum. Children use this ability to apply the right muscle strength, for example when holding a pencil or lifting a glass of water. Likewise, playing tag on the obstacle course strengthens children’s spatial intelligence because they need to know where ‘it’ is, and where they need to go.
In addition to training the cerebellum, obstacle courses also develop children’s gross motor skills in general, for example climbing, crawling, balancing, gripping, holding, jumping, walking and standing.
Obstacle courses encourage all sorts of games – and often games that involve moving around quickly. High priority must therefore be given to safety.
