Ryethaven housing association

Multiple play zones ensure activities for all ages

The Ryethaven housing association had a wish to modernise the existing playground, aiming to create a space that would attract more families to the communal area. The playground is divided into multiple play zones, each catering to a different age groups, which include an area designed for children aged 0-5, another for those aged 6-10, as well as a football and petanque area for all ages to enjoy.

The play zone designed for children between the ages 0-5, focuses on fostering creativity and role-playing. In this area, features like the sandbox, Off-roader and play structure from our Miniplay theme world, offers high play value while supporting the development of fine motor skills.

The play zone for childrens ages 6-10, is filled with opportunities for children to challenge themselves, while having fun at the same time. At this age, it is important to put gross motor skills to the test, which is why our play system Boris, trampoline and swing set are all great choices, to encourage the development of cross body movements and gross motor skills.

This playground is filled with equipment for children of all ages, offering opportunities for creativity and active play no matter the age. From the sandbox and swings to the football and petanque area, all generations can enjoy the space together, making the communal space an enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Vodder Local Parish Council

An affordable playground for all ages

In 2023, the Vodder Local Parish Council in Skærbæk created a new playground featuring play equipment from LEDON’s Basic series. This spacious, modern playground offers a wide range of play activities designed to engage children of all ages. The main priority was to create an inspiring play space at an affordable price, which is why the LEDON Basic series, was the ideal choice right from the start.

This playground offers a variety of equipment suited to children of all ages. Younger children can enjoy the mini swing, playhouse, offroader, and springers, while older children can challenge themselves with the climbing wall or reach new heights on the double swing set.

The playground primarily showcases equipment from LEDON’s Basic series, with additional features from the Explore theme world, such as the offroader. This combination shows the versatility of LEDON’s play equipment and how elements from different series can work together seamlessly in a single playground.

The Basic series is an excellent option when looking for a complete high quality playground solution while still being budget-friendly. To keep costs low, the Basic series focuses on reducing production costs, by leaving steel posts unpainted, having less moving parts from panels, and minimizing the use of HDPE material where possible. These design choices make Basic the perfect solution for creating modern playgrounds, even on a tight budget

Hou Marina

A modern playground that transforms the surrounding area

The new playground at Hou Marina has transformed the area, by creating a new vibrant place for families to visit. The project’s main goal was to replace the outdated wooden play equipment with modern, durable and low-maintenance play structures that would stand the test of time. It was also important that the modern play equipment would provide high play value for a broad age range, as families with children of all ages frequently visit the area.

Hou Marina has always been a popular place for families, therefore it was essential to design a playground that would invite children of all ages to engage with a range of different play activities. The Virok play system from our Explore theme world, was an ideal choice as it offers a combination of play activities for a broad age range, with design elements such as the kitchen panel, tic-tac-toe, jungle hut and the two slides. The natural colour, forms and shapes also make the play system integrate nicely with its natural surroundings and complements the Marina’s aesthetic.

Swings are always a popular activity among children of all ages, therefore a large swingset was essential on this playground. The swingset caters to all ages, as it features a baby seat, standard seat and a birds nest swing.

Often, a playground is more than just a place to have fun, but can also be a place for children to interact, socialise, learn and develop essential skills, such as communication and teamwork. This playground offers plenty of opportunities for children to put their skills to the test, with features like the Ana playhouse and Offroader, where it is encouraged to build storylines.

This playground provides a wide variety of play equipment and activities, where children have endless opportunities for imaginative play and adventure. Hou Marina is an inviting, family friendly place that we encourage you to visit.

Sulsted council

A playground that integrates in its natural surroundings

The Sulsted council wished for a new playground with equipment that would integrate seamlessly with its natural surroundings, while offering high play value for a broad age group. This project is a great example of how playground equipment made from HDPE (high density polyethylene) material can still achieve a natural aesthetic, through the colour choices, shapes and forms which can be seen throughout the Explore theme world.

This playground is divided into two main play zones. The first play zone consists of the Zulu play structure, which creates an impressive focal point on the playground and invites children to be adventurous, climb, slide and use their imagination to create a story. The play panels on the lower half of the play structure, allows the younger children to interact with the space, while the older children (ages 6+) can enjoy features such as the impressive tube slide. The combination of the beige and green colour palette complements the natural surroundings, while small details such as the leaves above the steel beams, echos the greenery around the play system.

The second play zone is tucked away among the surrounding trees, and includes some of LEDONs most popular play equipment, such as the Offroader, Bing springer and the Dino slide which is always a hit among the younger children. Each piece of playground equipment has been carefully selected to create a cohesive and inviting play universe.

This activity packed playground offers high play value to a broad age group, encouraging imagination and adventure. With its inviting playground design and thoughtful integration into its natural surrounding, this playground is definitely worth a visit.

Kongsdal Habour

A playground that attracts more visitors to the harbour

Alongside the southern shores of the Mariager Fjord, you will find the Kongsdal boat guild. The goal of this project was to design a playground that encourages more visitors to help create a vibrant, lively atmosphere at the harbour.

This project combines play equipment from LEDONs two popular theme worlds, Pirates and Explore in one playground, sparking instant excitement and invites children to dive into imaginative role play. With one of LEDON’s largest and most impressive pirate ships, Victoria, as the main attraction it makes this playground one to remember. The bow points directly towards the water, creating a realistic play experience letting children set their imagination free.

With play features like the Off-roader, the Raft and the Victoria pirate ship, this playground offers endless opportunities for children to create stories and embark on thrilling adventures, bringing their imaginations to life. The children can explore treasures, navigate the compass, and take a peek through the telescope, making every detail part of an immersive play experience. The variety of play activities allows children to build their own unique storyline by engaging with the playground equipment either separately, or together in one game.

Playing alongside the idyllic and calming atmosphere of the harbour, makes it a unique place to visit, while making children’s dreams come true.

Recreatiepark de Leistert

In Roggel, Netherlands the camping center Recreatiepark de Leistert wanted to establish a unique play universe where children could have fun, regardless of weather conditions. The playground needed to accommodate children ages 0-9. Therefore, the natural choice was to incorporate play equipment from LEDON’s MiniPlay theme world, as the series is designed and developed specifically for young children. Alongside LEDON’s play equipment are the constructions in Robinia wood, from our partner Ijreka Speeltoestellen.

This playground is eye-catching due to the unique combination of materials, but also because it is nicely tied together through the use of rubber flooring. The design of the rubber flooring creates details and spaces that help to build a story throughout the play universe. The creation of small paths, rivers and stepping stones creates a unity for the entire space, but also breaks the space up into smaller zones.

The playground is full of fun activities and play elements that encourage children to challenge themselves both physically and cognitively. The playground gives children the opportunity to climb, practice balance as well as engage in role playing. Many children prefer to immerse themselves by playing quietly and alone, therefore the smaller play zones allows children with all different play preferences to play in the same space.

This project is a good example of how LEDON’s play equipment in HDPE materials, alongside Robinia wood in the same play universe, actually compliments each other nicely. This project also highlights how, together with Ijreka Speeltoestellen, we can apply our knowledge and expertise in the field of children’s development, materials, colours and shapes to establish a playground with high play value and plenty of exciting play activities.

The playhouse is specially designed in another colour. The standard version is shown in the product overview.

Engparken, Ribe

Play zones on the playground provide space for children of all age groups

The homeowners’ association Centerområdet i Ribe had to replace their old playground on the area’s green space. With supplementary funds from both Norlys Vækstpulje and Esbjerg Municipality, the wish for a large playground that can accommodate children from 0-12 years of age became a reality.

The new playground is divided into several small areas, all suitable for specific types of play or age groups. For example, there is an area for the smallest children, which is designed with age-appropriate play equipment such as playhouses, a baby swing and a play system from our series LEDON MiniPlay, which has been specially developed for children from 0-3 years.

In addition, there is an area with swings as well as one with a balance course and a ship’s bow. The bigger children can enjoy our largest play system from LEDON Explore, which is full of opportunities to train gross motor skills using climbing walls, wobbly bridges, rope tunnels and slides.

Jens Henriksen, who is the chairman of the homeowners’ association, is very satisfied with the final playground and says:

We think that the finished result has succeeded really well. We are very proud to have been able to establish the playground to the extent that it actually is. The playground is used by our day care institutions – both kindergartens and nurseries to a large extent. During the day and at weekends, it is a gathering place for our residents in the homeowners’ association. So, we are very satisfied with the result that we have today.

Jens Henriksen, the chairman of the homeowners’ association

He also says the following about our collaboration:

The cooperation we have had with LEDON means that we will not hesitate to recommend LEDON for other future projects. If someone asks us about the collaboration, we have had with LEDON, then it has been incomparable – it has been really good. Only a big recommendation for LEDON from here.

Jens Henriksen, the chairman of the homeowners’ association

Trenevej, Sønderborg

Playgrounds that complement each other

The housing association B42 wanted to renew their two nearby playgrounds. As they are within walking distance of each other, it was decided that one should be more adapted to the little ones, while the one on Trenevej should focus on the older children. At the same time, it was necessary to take the space into account. The housing association wanted to preserve some of the grass so that the residents could play ball, kubb, etc.

The solution was playground equipment at one end of the green area with a table and bench set in the middle, so that one can keep an eye on both the playground and ball games. The play equipment is from the LEDON Explore and LEDON Basic series. They provide a playground that offers play activities for everyone, just as the natural colors of the series blend in well with the surroundings. The children benefit from classic equipment such as swings, playhouse, see-saw and a play system with one of the children’s favourites, namely the slide. In addition, they can train their balance on one of our obstacle courses, which is a fun challenge for older children.

When two playgrounds are in the same area, we always take this into account in the design. The customers might have different wishes, but the vast majority prefer, like the housing association B42, that the two playgrounds complement each other instead of being the same. Solutions with variety ensure that the children have versatile experiences, and their benefit from the value of play and natural development is thus greater.

The play system is specially designed without a hut. The standard version is shown in the product overview.

Ulriksdal, Viborg

A playground full of play value from top to bottom

The homeowners’ association Ulriksdal had to replace their old playground. Their wish for a new one was as little maintenance as possible. Therefore, the play equipment should preferably be made of low maintenance materials, just as the safety surface should be poured-in-place rubber.

All our play equipment is low in maintenance, which is why it was easy to design the playground and make a play environment full of different activities. The safety surface was also included in the solution. Poured-in-place rubber makes it possible to have patterns, symbols or figures built into the surface. Therefore, the children can also enjoy hopscotch on the playground and a turtle that they can climb on.

The playground has a large selection of play equipment, so all types of play are catered for. On the carousel, trampoline, seesaw and swings, the children can move at full speed, while their climbing skills are challenged on the play system. With equipment from our LEDON Explore series, imaginative role-playing is ideal, and here, among other things, our off-roader is good for starting the games.

Haveløkken, Odense

A playground for everyone in the area to enjoy

The homeowners’ association Haveløkken wanted to renew their playground on the green area in the middle of their street. The playground is well-visited by both day care institutions and children in the area – and therefore there were many who could benefit from a new playground.

This was also one of the reasons why the municipality chose to support the construction of the playground when the homeowners’ association applied for help in financing the project. With extra money, they were able to realize their dream of a playground full of play activities for both big and small children.

The playground was designed with play equipment from our LEDON Basic and LEDON Explore series. From Basic, they got a play system that has a special focus on challenging the children’s gross motor skills with lots of climbing opportunities, while the play system from Explore is perfect for role-play when the children go exploring or make sand cakes in the kitchen. To make room for the many visiting children, the homeowners’ association chose a modular swing frame and a somersault bar as extra activities. In this way, they achieved a spacious playground that invites all the children in the area to play.
