Sia is the price-conscious model in LEDON Explore

The Explore universe has playground equipment for every need. Sia is the smallest model in the Explore series, but still offers scope for challenges and fun. The short rope ladder extends up to the tower, which has a floor height of 90 cm, from where you can look out across the playground or zoom down the slide. Underneath is a small den, where the diamond panel encourages concentrated play and stimulates fine motor skills.

Sia is a compact play system

With its triangular floor, Sia is suitable for areas with limited space. Sia requires an area of 5,3 x 4.2 metres. The fall height is 90 cm, so Sia should ideally stand on grass. However, this is not always recommended, as grass soon wears out, and the ground becomes too hard to function as a suitable safety surface. The system is designed for children from about three years of age, and the non-slip floor ensures that even the smallest feet stand securely.

Why choose LEDON Explore?

  • Low-maintenance play equipment in natural colours.
  • In particular, it challenges and stimulates children’s social skills, motor skills and balance.
  • The play systems come in a wide range of sizes and price classes to suit every need.
  • A theme world that arouses children’s natural interest in experiencing and exploring the world.
  • The largest theme world with many different items of play equipment for the entire playground.

Fen provides multiple play experiences on a limited area

Fen is one of the smaller LEDON Explore models, and is therefore suitable for playgrounds where space is limited. The tower is designed to stimulate children’s motor, linguistic and social development. The rope ladder provides access to the upper level, which is 90 cm high, from where it is possible to whizz down the slide. The system is suitable for children from about three years of age.

A ground plan full of surprises

At ground level, there are several activities that will keep children busy, for example the treasure chest and number panel. The treasure chest stimulates language and fine motor skills when children need to examine whether the key opens the treasure chest, while the number panel with the large holes helps to develop children’s number sense, and it is also possible to crawl through the holes. Behind the two side panels is a den where secrets and other tales can be told.

Atox is a multi-functional play environment

Atox is a popular single tower model in the Explore universe because it spans a wide age group. The non-slip steps make it possible for even two-year-olds to climb up into the tower and have a go on the fun slide. The tower also provides access to the crow’s nest, where the moveable telescope encourages role-playing – even over large distances.

A kitchen sets the scene for role-playing

Atox has a floor height of 90 cm. The play system is designed with a roof, which gives children a sense of being in a hut and a playhouse. The roof protects them from the wind and weather, and shades them from the sun. At ground level is the kitchen, which is ideal for role-playing with imaginary pots and pans. What shall we bake? And when shall we eat?

Play system with built-in playhouse

Rios is one of several Explore models which has a built-in playhouse on the first floor. The playhouse is a traditional piece of playground equipment, and when included in the system, it gives children the opportunity to use it as a lookout post across the playground. With its integrated table and benches, it is also possible to enjoy a packed lunch or to play shop.

Developmental slide

The slide is always a playground favourite, because it’s fun and exciting, and helps to stimulate the children’s development. When children go on the slide, they train both their gross motor skills and their balance. At the same time, they learn about gravity and judging distance and speed.

A small-scale play system with space for several children

Hanok does not require much space, in fact only 7.5 x 7.3 metres. Nevertheless, the Hanok system has numerous play activities. Among other things the swaying bird’s nest, which is an integral part of the play environment. The bird’s nest is often only seen with swings, but here it can be used as a cosy corner for older children, although toddlers also enjoy the swinging sensation. When the bird’s nest is secured on both sides, it cannot roll upside down.

Play system with swinging hut

Hanok has one of the children’s hot favourites, the swinging jungle hut. The jungle hut was developed to meet children’s wishes for a den, where they can hide away and exchange secrets. The swinging sensation makes the jungle hut experience even more fun.

Skriverløkken, Sønderborg

One playground – two series: The best of two worlds

In Sønderborg in southern Denmark, the housing association B42 has a big new playground that combines our two theme worlds LEDON Explore and LEDON Pirates. With many different pieces of play equipment, the playground is designed for children of all ages.

Our theme worlds represent different universes, but they can easily be combined and mixed. In this way, the children can choose to play on their own or engage in cooperative play that draws on all the different thematic elements.

Explore and Pirates are some of our most imaginative series. In particular, they encourage role-play and social interaction, which helps to develop children’s cognitive abilities. At the same time, the series have a wide selection of play equipment, which makes it easy to put together a complete playground with high play value.

Søren Steen Kindberg, assistant supervisor at the housing association, is delighted with the result, and says:

Our collaboration with LEDON has been – and still is – absolutely fantastic. We have been met with a high degree of professionalism as well as a friendly and welcoming service from start to finish. We wanted products from two different LEDON product groups, and together we designed the playground so that it suits the area perfectly. I can only pass on my warmest recommendations, and suggest that anyone wanting a new playground should contact LEDON.

The savannah has its very own springers

LEDON Explore has many springers on the savannah. The springers can withstand even the most enthusiastic cowboys or hunters! The series includes equipment for children large and small, and even the most energetic are well catered for. Whether you choose the tiger, the giraffe, the rhino, the zebra or something quite different.

Springers are fun and healthy

It’s fun to rock, but it’s also important. Keeping a springer rocking exercises the whole body. This physical exercise is very healthy, but it also benefits a child’s proprioception. Rocking back and forth gives the child a strong sense of cause and effect, while at the same time stimulating the vestibular sense, which strengthens balance and learning. None of the springers in the LEDON Explore series requires special maintenance, and they are designed with non-slip seats. The ergonomic nylon handles minimise the risk of eye and dental injuries, while also ensuring that small fingers do not stick to the surfaces in freezing weather.

Several children can play together on the seesaws on the savannah

The savannah in the Explore universe has several different seesaws. When children rock back and forth, they are experimenting with gravity and balance while subconsciously training their large muscle groups. It’s not easy to rock alone, so having a go on a seesaw also requires using your collaborative skills. In this way, playing on the seesaw with friends is a fun and constructive activity where social and linguistic skills are put to the test. There are seesaws for two, four and more children, so daredevils will definitely enjoy themselves, whichever seesaw you choose.

Seesaws are fun and healthy

It’s fun to rock, but it’s also important. Keeping a seesaw rocking exercises the whole body. It is physically healthy and is good for proprioception. Rocking back and forth also stimulates the vestibular sense, which strengthens balance and learning skills. All LEDON Explore seesaws are maintenance-free and are designed with non-slip seats. The ergonomic nylon handles minimise the risk of eye and dental injuries, while also ensuring that small fingers do not stick to the surfaces in freezing weather.

Hop aboard the galleon rocker with your friends

There’s room for lots of children on the multi-seesaws, where everyone needs to pull together to get things moving. Playing on the seesaw strengthens motor skills, balance and coordination and, not least, social ties between the children. The youngest children can sit securely at each end of the seesaw, while older children can use the large non-slip platform as they wish.

The handles on the multi-seesaw have a natural rubber finish for a safe and comfortable grip. At the same time, stop blocks in the patented spring mechanism ensure that the multi-seesaw cannot hit the ground.

The popular parrot slide

The open parrot slide in the Explore universe is popular with many children. Slides generally act as a magnet on children, who approach them with enthusiasm and smiles. Hurtling at top speed down a slide makes everyone feel exhilarated, but it is also educational. Children learn about gravity, and about judging distance and speed. Finally, slides train children’s motor skills and balance.

A quality-assured slide

All LEDON’s open slides are child-friendly with a capital C. The sliding surface is made of a single piece of polyethylene, which will prevent any scratches, and nor is it possible to get splinters in your fingers, which can happen on slides made of wood. As the slide is made of polyethylene, the sliding surface does not overheat in the sunshine. The slides require no special maintenance, and are supplied in an easy-to-assemble format.
