Description

Astrid is a play universe for tots and toddlers

Astrid is one of the largest play environments in the MiniPlay family, quite apart from Filippa and Jonathan, the ultimate play environments. Astrid welcomes children to a world of play. The system comprises an impressive three towers that are accessed via the low steps and handgrips or via the crawling ramp, which is perfect for the youngest children – while training their gross motor skills and balance. From the two bridges, the children can observe their surroundings through the two large windows or play hide-and-seek and other games. They can also take a look through the dome in the tree top, or crawl into the secret lair in the trunk underneath the floor. One of Astrid’s towers has a ‘fiddly finger panel’, which is designed to resemble the view from a car driver’s seat with a key, steering wheel, gearstick and a ‘speed’ control, represented by a tortoise and a hare. The key hangs from a galvanised metal chain, which stimulates the senses and fine motor skills.

Astrid provides challenges while supporting children’s natural development

Astrid has many age-appropriate activities designed to support children’s natural development, including their gross and fine motor skills, cross-coordination as well as linguistic, social and emotional development. There are also challenges which cannot be surmounted the first time the child has a go, but this is a natural part of growing up. Through practice and pluckiness in a safe environment, children will have their first experiences of success through being able to do things for themselves and mastering their bodies. This in turn gives them the confidence to try new things. Astrid and the rest of the MiniPlay family are carefully designed to effectively stimulate and support children’s physical development from when they start in nursery and until they move on to kindergarten and school.

1/10

Non-slip surface

A 3 mm rubber coating ensures a firm footing for children, even when it is raining and in frosty weather.

2/10

Galvanised and lacquered posts

The posts are powder-coated in beautiful colours to match our theme worlds while also being protected from rust by hot-dip galvanising.

3/10

Easy access for all children

The play systems are easy to access either from the ground, via a crawling ramp or stairs. In this way, all children can participate.

4/10

Low floor height for a sense of security

The floor height is such that an adult can easily stand next to and support children while they are playing, and thus ensure that the children feel safe when exploring the play activities.

5/10

Non-toxic and recyclable polyethylene

The polyethylene boards are 100% recyclable, and contain no hazardous chemicals. They are approved according to the specific requirements of both the EU Toy Safety Directive EN 71 and the US Food Directive.

6/10

Strengthens gross motor skills

Children use their major muscle groups and strengthen their gross motor skills when playing on the play equipment. Gross motor skills are vital for both their basic motor development as well as their fine motor skills.

7/10

Impact-resistant polycarbonate

Transparent polycarbonate adds extra fun for children as they see the world anew through the windows and domes. Polycarbonate is extremely impact-resistant, whatever the temperature. The material is also UV-protected to prevent the boards from fading when exposed to sunlight.

8/10

Social and language skills

The play equipment offers ample opportunities for children to engage in cooperative play. It grows their social and language skills, which is key to developing relationships and friendships.

9/10

No burnt fingers on sunny days

The slides are made of polyethylene, which is heat-resistant and therefore does not get too hot to touch in the sunshine.

10/10

Develops fine motor skills

The many moving parts support the development of children’s fine motor skills. Through the stimulation of their fine motor skills, children learn to make small precise movements which, among other things, make it easier for them to hold and control a pencil.
